Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL, provides patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision, assisting with daily living activities and maintaining a safe care environment. You will support nursing staff by delivering delegated tasks and ensuring effective communication within the team.

Under supervision, you’ll record vitals, help with meals, mobility, glucose monitoring, and follow infection control and safety protocols, including PPE usage.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of acute care experience or active nursing program enrollment.
• CNA or CPCT certification preferred.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delegated basic patient care and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and intake/output, report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and hygiene.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, and use of walkers or wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform blood glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team.
