Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under nurse direction, and to perform clerical tasks related to department needs. You’ll care for Surgical, Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, Pediatric, Obstetric, Telemetry and Psychiatric patients while maintaining safety and accurate documentation.

Formación

• Basic Telemetry course Required.
• Completion of C.N.A. course (or complete within four months of hire date) Required.
• Completion of C.N.A course if currently in high school Required.
• Healthcare experience within the past five years Preferred.
• Computer classes/experience Preferred.
• Knowledge of customer service and clerical procedures.
• Knowledge of English language, grammar and spelling.

Responsabilidades

• Answer patients' call lights in a timely manner and address requests.
• Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens as appropriate.
• Deliver messages, documents, and specimens.
• Observe patients' conditions and record intake, output and vital signs.
• Maintain unit inventory of supplies.
• Monitor patient safety and communicate needs for monitoring devices to licensed nurses.
• Document activities in the medical record accurately and timely.
• Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Assist admissions, discharges and transfers with staff collaboration.
• Assemble, clean, and tear down medical records.
• Operate office equipment and hospital systems.
