The University of Iowa Health Care is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Specialty Unit (6RC) in Iowa City. This 50% position supports the nursing team under RN supervision in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment focused on comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic patient procedures, transfers, hygiene, mobility assistance, and comfort measures, with a strong emphasis on teamwork across clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsabilités

• Independently obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and related tasks under nurse supervision.
• Assist with patient admission, transfers and discharges.
• Provide for patient comfort and personal hygiene.
• Turn, position and ambulate patients; transport patients and supplies.
• Assist with feeding and monitoring intake and output.
• Participate in nursing care conferences and report information.
