Job summary

Great River Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic bedside care under licensed nurse supervision in a hospital setting. The role supports Surgical, Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, and other units, performs clerical tasks, and ensures patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include responding to call lights, delivering messages, maintaining clean rooms, and documenting care. Prior experience and coursework in telemetry and CNA are valued, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Basic Telemetry course required.
• Medical Terminology course within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred completion of CNA course or complete within four months of hire.
• Healthcare experience within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Answer call lights promptly and address requests.
• Answer telephones and direct calls to staff.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and change linens as needed.
• Observe patient conditions and record intake/output and vitals.
• Document activities in the medical record accurately and timely.
