Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician to support our nursing team in acute care. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, and personal care, helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans, while promoting a safe and compassionate patient environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year acute care experience (preferred), Kansas CNA license or PCT Essentials training, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of acute care experience preferred.
• Kansas CNA license or completion of the HCA PCT Essentials training.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• PCT orientation will be completed before transitioning to 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas clean, organized and stocked for safety.
• Manage supplies, equipment and logs to support infection control.
• Communicate with patients, families and care team to support safety.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
• PRN Schedule - MUST commit to minimum two (2) 12-hr shifts per 4 week schedule (weekday and weekend)

What qualifications you will need:

• A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.
• Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• Must be able to complete PCT Orientation (2 full weeks, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm before transitioning to 12-hr shifts on floor). November/December start dates.
