Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. You will support RNs with hands-on care, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment in a busy hospital setting.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year acute care experience (preferred), and Kansas CNA license or PCT Essentials training. BCLS certification is required on hire, with a 2-week orientation followed by 12-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in acute care preferred.
• Kansas CNA license or HCA PCT Essentials training required.
• BCLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Maintain clean, organized patient areas and supplies for safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and care team to support safety and quality.
• Work full-time NIGHT schedule: 6:45p-7:15a; three 12-hour shifts after orientation.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients.You'llassistwith daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNsmonitorconditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
• Full‑time NIGHT Schedule: 6:45p-7:15a; 3 12-hr shifts following completion of PCT Orientation

What qualifications you will need:

• A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.
• Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• Must be able to complete PCT Orientation (2 full weeks, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm before transitioning to 12-hr shifts on floor). October start dates.
