Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center seeks a Patient Care Technician Med Surg to join our nursing team. You will assist RNs with vital signs, mobility, and personal care, helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients while supporting daily care activities.

This full-time night shift includes three 12-hour rotations after orientation. We value empathy, teamwork, and reliability as essential to restoring comfort and dignity for every patient we serve.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Full-time NIGHT Schedule: 6:45p-7:15a; 3 12-hr shifts following completion of PCT Orientation.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

What qualifications you will need:

• A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.
• Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Patient Care Tech Essentials training.
• BCLS certification required upon hire.
• Must be able to complete PCT Orientation (2 full weeks, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm before transitioning to 12-hr shifts on floor). October start dates.
