Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to join a leading hospital pharmacy team in Overland Park, Kansas. The role emphasizes safe medication therapy, oversight of the medication use system, and collaboration with medical staff.

Qualifications

• B.S. or PharmD from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Doctor of Pharmacy from ACPE-accredited college preferred
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with State Board of Pharmacy
• State Specific Medications Therapy Management Certification
• Minimum of 1 year hospital clinical pharmacy experience or 2 years general hospital pharmacy experience
• Hospital PGY1/Pharmacy residency or fellowship highly preferred
• Specialty BCPS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and transcribe into pharmacy system
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals
• Monitor drug therapy for contraindications and interactions
• Suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff
• Sustain formulary and promote rational drug therapy selection
• Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, and anticoagulant monitoring
• Complete notification reports for medication errors and ADRs
• Provide oversight of staff schedules

Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Pharmacists provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services for hospital inpatients. The role of the Pharmacy is to promote safe and effective medication therapy for all patients and to provide oversight and leadership of the medication use system. What you will do in this role:

• You will interpret orders and transcribe into the pharmacy computer system.
• You will accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• You will monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.
• You will suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives to medical staff.
• You will sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promote rational drug therapy selection.
• You will assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.
• You will complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
• You will provide oversight of staff schedules.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy, a Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy is preferred
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
• State Specific Medications Therapy Management Certification
• At least one of the following:Minimum of 1 year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience or at least 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience preferred; within area of focus
• Completion of hospital PGY1/ pharmacy general practice residency or fellowship highly preferred
• Specialty BCPS certification preferred
• OPRMC has a high acuity NICU*
