Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. is seeking a PRN PACU Registered Nurse to join Prince William Surgery Center’s dynamic team.

The RN will care for patients recovering from surgical procedures in a multispecialty ambulatory setting, with a flexible PRN schedule and no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements. Responsibilities include monitoring post-operative patients in PACU, administering medications, collaborating with the surgical team, and educating patients on post-operative

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients post-operatively in the PACU, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and overall recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area.
• Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and potential complications.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff in the PACU.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards.
