Job summary

Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center, a USPI facility, seeks a PRN PreOp/PACU RN to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients before and after anesthesia. The role involves monitoring patients, assisting with procedures, and ensuring safe recovery and discharge planning.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license, with BLS/ACLS (PALS if required). PACU or critical care experience is preferred, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential for prioritizing patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for PreOp/PACU patients and evaluate their condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques as needed.
• Deliver total, comprehensive patient care from preop through recovery and discharge planning.

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications
