Job summary

Avante at Ocala is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide Occupational Therapy services to residents in our skilled nursing facility, assisting in assessment, treatment planning, and documentation under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy, NCOTA certification, state licensure, and 0–3 years in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Formal OT education and licensure required or eligible.
• Certification as OTA must be current or in progress.
• Ability to implement therapy plans with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans as designed by supervising therapist.
• Document daily care per established guidelines.
• Communicate response to treatment to residents, families and team.

Qualifications:

• Ability to carry out treatment plans as designed by supervising therapist
• Ability to document daily care as per established guidelines.
• Ability to effectively communicate response to treatment intervention to residents,
• family, and other team members.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of the National Certification for O.T.A.
• Current state licensure or license eligible.
• 0-3 years of long-term care experience.

This position requires background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
