Qualifications

• Proven working experience as an occupational therapist.
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy.
• Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale).
• Valid license to practice occupational therapy.
• BS degree or greater in occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality Occupational therapy services and initiate referrals.
• Evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning.
• Supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
• Apply interventions to maximize safety in daily living activities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe and report on progress of treatment goals.

Skills

Working experience as occupational therapist

Friendly Village Nursing & Rehab a skilled nursing facility in the Eden Senior Care Network, is now hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitation services in one or more of our service locations.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• To provide quality Occupational therapy services and initiate referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
• To evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conduct specialized evaluations as indicated.
• To supervise and direct Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the implementation of the treatment plan.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers
• Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
