MedStar Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for PRN night shifts (7pm–7:30am). You will provide respiratory care per physician orders, monitor equipment, and respond to emergencies.

The role requires an associate degree in respiratory care and active CRT license; RCP license preferred; Maryland licensure is required. Candidates with 0–3 years acute care experience and relevant certifications (CPR, ACLS/NRP/PALS within a year where required) are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care (required).
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.

Responsabilités

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, quality, and safety standards.
• Assesses patient dimensions (physical, psychosocial, educational needs) and documents.
• Performs respiratory therapies and manages equipment and services (oxygen, humidity, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, spirometry, EKG, blood gas).
• Uses therapeutic communication and problem-solving during patient care.
• Reviews EMR and physician orders during shifts.
• Responds to CPR, maintains airway, provides oxygen/ventilation.
• Improves workflow efficiency and interdepartmental processes.
