Job summary

United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) is seeking a registered nurse to plan, direct, coordinate and implement nursing care for post-surgical and medical patients. The RN will ensure safe, high-quality care and compliance with federal/state standards, serving patients from pediatric to geriatric that require MSE assessments as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.

The role requires direct patient care, rapid emergency response, care planning, patient education, medication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• RN license in Texas.
• Preferred 2 years’ hospital Med/Surg experience.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (offered at facility if not current).
• Strong nursing judgment and ability to prioritize care.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care within RN scope and hospital policies.
• Assesses patients' psychosocial, educational and physical needs across age groups.
• Responds quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
• Develops and prioritizes plans of care to meet measurable goals.
• Identifies educational needs and documents patient/family education.
• Manages pain and administers medications with ongoing assessment.
• Performs MSE and follows follow-up policies.
• Utilizes MediTech EMR to register patients, enter orders and access information.
