Job summary

USPI South Texas Specialty Hospital is seeking an RN for Med/Surg (Nights) to join our team. We have 25 beds, 8 OR rooms and 3 ER rooms, performing outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic and Spine.

The Post Surgical Unit RN will plan, direct, coordinate, and implement all nursing care for post-surgical patients, ensuring quality and safe care, while complying with Joint Commission and Federal/State standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• At least 1 year as an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU.
• RN, current in the State of Texas.
• BLS, ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care for post-surgical patients.
• Ensure the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care.
• Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission and Federal/State standards of care.
• Respond to patients with healthcare needs and provide Medical Screening Exam as delegated.

Job Summary:

The Post Surgical Unit RN / MED-SURG RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. He/she ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care. The Post Surgical Unit RN is assigned to respond to patients presenting to facility with a healthcare need and will provide the Medical Screening Exam as delegated by the Medical Executive Committee.
