Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screener in a PRN capacity. You will autonomously screen newborns and infants using OAEs or AABR before discharge, under supervision, with emphasis on accurate results and family communication.

The role requires a High School Diploma or allied health degree with hospital experience, physical ability to stand/walk for long periods, and adherence to infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and one year of hospital experience or an allied health degree.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Exposure to infectious disease or body fluids may occur.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screening under supervision using OAEs and/or AABR.
• Ensure equipment function and troubleshoot issues.
• Communicate results to families in a confidential, appropriate manner.
• Document results and quality assurance information per policy.
