Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI exams, working closely with radiologists and physicians to deliver high-quality imaging. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers flexible scheduling with shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends, and opportunities to mentor students and fellow techs while maintaining clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR or ARMRIT or cross-trained in MRI.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• IV competency within 30 days of hire.
• 1–2 years MRI technologist experience (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT/MR or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adheres to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
• Assists and instructs students and other MRI Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
• Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques.
• Understands and operates equipment and information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
