Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (PRN) to perform routine to specialized laboratory testing under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager. The role supports patient care by ensuring accurate testing, reporting results, and maintaining competencies across assigned departments.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in a laboratory field or CLIA-qualified equivalent, with MLT/CLT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred and at least 1 year of clinical lab experience

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemical/Physical/Biological/Medical Laboratory Technology or CLIA-qualified equivalent.
• MLT/CLT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens without supervision for testing and reporting results.
• Maintain competencies in all departments assigned and ensure testing accuracy.
• Communicate with care providers to ensure continuity of patient care and meet customer needs.
• Demonstrate attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping.
• Uphold professional and organizational standards and ethics.
• Support performance improvement opportunities on the unit and with other service areas.

Education

Associate Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Medical Laboratory Technology/Clinical Laboratory Technology (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution.
