Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for third shift/as-needed coverage. The role involves conducting routine lab procedures on blood, urine, and tissue specimens, analyzing results to determine disease presence or cause, maintaining equipment, and serving as an educator when needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree: 60 semester hours with specified science/mo
• In lieu of an associate degree, high school graduate with 50+ weeks military Medical Laboratory Specialist training.
• Training: completion of an accredited clinical laboratory training program or 3 months in each specialty for high complexity testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine laboratory procedures on specimens such as blood, urine, and tissue samples.
• Analyze test results to determine the presence, absence, or cause of disease.
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Educate as necessary.

Education

Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

High school diploma plus 50+ weeks military Medical Laboratory Specialist training

60 semester hours with 24 MLT/science courses or 24 science hours

Clinical laboratory training program or 3 months high complexity testing training
