Job summary
The Hospital Laboratory at Baptist Health Richmond performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing per CLIA guidelines, providing timely results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The Medical Technologist (ASCP)/Medical Laboratory Scientist will interpret, validate, and report results, perform quality control, instrument maintenance, and specimen processing, including phlebotomy as needed.
The role operates on 3rd shift, requires MLS/MT/MLT certification eligible or holder, and
Qualifications
- Clinical laboratory testing across multiple areas per CLIA guidelines
- Must have or be eligible for MLS/MT/MLT (ASCP) certification
- Strong quality control and instrument maintenance responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing and interpret results
- Record data in lab information systems and other appropriate areas
- Collect blood and urine samples for testing and drug screening as needed
- Perform quality control, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Conduct venipuncture and specimen processing as required
- Ensure results meet QC standards and report accurate results
