Job summary

Baptist Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for full-time third shift to perform and validate laboratory tests in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The MLT will ensure specimen integrity, run quality controls, troubleshoot instruments, and report results to clinical teams, while supporting training and continuing education to uphold regulatory standards. Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science.
• MLT Certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) or eligible.
• Strong problem-solving, technical, and communication skills.
• Previous laboratory experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab testing and analyze results per protocols.
• Ensure accurate specimen ID, processing, and reporting.
• Perform quality control and troubleshoot issues.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor laboratory instruments.
• Recognize abnormal results and take corrective actions.
• Communicate results and critical values to staff.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in training students and new staff.
• Maintain inventory and support department operations.
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement.
