Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related science required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Two years of college coursework in biology and chemistry plus completion of an accredited Medical Technology or related science program may substitute for the degree requirement when eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens, including specimen collection, processing, analysis, and result reporting.
• Ensure accurate, timely testing and maintain quality control, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Monitors specimen integrity, identifies testing issues, and follows corrective action procedures when needed.
• Maintains compliance with safety, infection control, confidentiality, PPE, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicates test results and critical values effectively with physicians, nurses, providers, and other healthcare staff.
• Participates in quality assurance, proficiency testing, performance improvement, and laboratory quality programs.
