Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Technologist (ASCP)/Medical Laboratory Scientist for full-time 2nd shift in its hospital laboratory. The role covers hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank and microbiology testing, with emphasis on quality control, maintenance, and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a MLS/ASCP MT/MLT certification or eligibility and is prepared to obtain certification within one year.

Qualifications

• MLS/ASCP MT/MLT certification required or eligible.
• Certification must be achieved within one year of hire.
• Membership in a professional organization is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing per CLIA '88 guidelines.
• Interpret and report results for established tests and examinations.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Collect blood and urine samples for testing as needed; venipuncture as required.
• Document data in the lab information system and related records.
• Adhere to departmental procedures and regulatory agency requirements.
