Job summary

SHC WVUHS Home Care is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to administer treatments under a PT's direction in home health settings. You will report changes in patient condition, assist with gait training, and ensure safe operation of equipment while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires PTA licensure in the applicable state, CPR within 30 days of hire, and a valid driver's license. Eligible for APTA membership is preferred, with a focus on patient-centered care in a home

Qualifications

• Current PTA licensure in applicable state or compact license.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs PTA duties under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Assesses and documents changes in patient condition and responses to treatment.
• Obtains pulses, blood pressure and respirations as needed.
• Delivers therapeutic exercises and gait training as prescribed.
• Teaches home programs and ensures safe equipment use.
• Maintains documentation per policy and coordinates with care team.
