Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under a supervising Physical Therapist. The role covers home health services in Wetzel, Tyler, Marshall, and Ohio Counties.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercise, gait training, ADLs, and mobility, while adhering to state laws and the plan of care. Requires PTA licensure, CPR, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Following all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and adhering to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in therapy within the PTA scope, across care settings.
• Functioning effectively in diverse home environments and with varied patient needs.
