Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Cook/Assistant Chef for Beacon Hill in Denison, TX. The role focuses on preparing patient meals per approved menus in a timely, sanitary manner, aligned with local and federal guidelines.

The position requires a current state Food Manager Certificate; prior experience in healthcare food production is preferred and English literacy is essential. This on-site role supports patient care and nutrition services, with ongoing staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Manager Certificate is required.
• Experience in quality food preparation in healthcare or long-term care is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or direct preparation of meals per scheduled menus.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, work areas and storage areas.
• Label, date, and store food items/leftovers promptly.
• Prepare special items and snacks as instructed by Nutrition Services Director/Chef.
• Monitor temperatures of food, refrigerators, freezers, and dispensers.
• Train or supervise Nutrition Services staff as needed.
