Job summary

Medical City Frisco in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a PRN/day shift. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with providers and the care team, using established nursing models to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and outcomes.

The role requires an RN license, an Associate Degree, and multiple credentialing requirements with timeframes.

Qualifications

• RN required; active license to practice in relevant state
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 1 year of employment
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year
• BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days
• ACLS Instructor certification within 90 days
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
• Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and anticipate care requirements.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and follow-up.
• Explain non-medication follow-up measures, diet, exercise, and disease prevention for self-management.
