Qualifications

Registered by ARDMS or ARRT (S).
Current BCLS certification.
High School Graduate.
Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.
Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and positioning.
Effective communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

Operate ultrasound equipment with A-, M-, B-mode, Doppler and real-time techniques.
Maintain image quality and recognize diagnostic quality scans and artifacts.
Identify patient service requirements and establish rapport with patients.
Ensure operation of ultrasound equipment; perform preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions.
Maintain ultrasound supplies inventory and order as needed.
Adhere to infection control policies and regulations.
Attend educational workshops and maintain professional knowledge.
Prepare patient for ultrasound procedure and position equipment accordingly.
Document patient care in records and follow orders from licensed practitioners.
