Job summary

El Paso Children’s Hospital is seeking an entry-level Ultrasound Technologist to perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures for patients of all ages in Diagnostic Imaging Services.

Role requires a 2-year degree with rotating, PRN shifts. ARDMS/ARRT registration is preferred or eligible, and BLS certification is required. A senior student or graduate from an accredited ultrasound program is suitable entry candidates.

Qualifications

• One year of ultrasound experience preferred.
• Education: senior student or graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program.
• Licensure: ARDMS/ARRT registered preferred or registry eligible; new graduates must complete registry within 6 months.

Level: Entry, Job Location: El Paso Childrens Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905, Position Type: PRN, Education Level: 2 Year Degree, Job Shift: Rotating, Performs wide range of Ultrasound procedures on patients of varying ages, completes all associated tasks and responsibilities necessary to manage patient care needs while patient is in Department for procedures. Assists in the development and the monitoring of department specific systems and in the coordination of activities that improve the quality of patient care in the Diagnostic Imaging Services.

Qualifications: Work Experience

• One (1) year experience performing a wide variety of Ultrasound procedures under supervision of physician or registered Sonographer preferred.

License/Registration/Certification

• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) / Vascular Sonography (VS) registered preferred or registry eligible. New graduates must complete registry within 6 months of hire date.
• All Sonographers must be certified at required program level at time of the respective department inspection by the American College of Radiology (ACR) or at onset of accreditation renewal. Exception to this will be recent graduates.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education and Training

• Senior student or graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program.
