Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX seeks a PRN Sonographer II to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and interpretation to support patient care. The role requires familiarity with ultrasound principles across multiple systems, patient positioning, and adherence to infection control and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have ARDMS/ARRT(S) registration and current BCLS, plus a strong knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Registered by the ARDMS or ARRT (S)
• Current BCLS certification
• Knowledge of anatomy and positioning
• Effective communication and listening skills

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment with knowledge of A-/M-/B-mode, Doppler and real-time techniques
• Maintain image quality and recognize artifacts in scans
• Prepare patients and position for examinations
• Ensure equipment maintenance and troubleshooting per manufacturer guidelines
• Manage supplies and inventory for ultrasound procedures
• Comply with legal and professional requirements for ultrasound practice
• Pursue ongoing professional development and attend relevant workshops
• Document patient care in records and maintain infection control standards
• Assist with team operations and coordinate orders for examinations
