Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a PRN Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and support radiology services. You will welcome patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort while delivering high quality imaging.

This role requires an associate degree, ARDMS eligibility, and a New Mexico license; BLS certification is also expected. You’ll join a team committed to excellent patient care and professional growth within Lifepoint Health's network.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field.
• ARDMS eligible or registered.
• New Mexico license to practice as a Sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patients are comfortable.
• Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures.
• Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
• Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
• Checks the physician's requisition for complete information on the procedure requested; refers questions to the ultrasound physician.
• Assists the radiologist/referring physician in invasive procedures using sterile technique while maintaining infection control guidelines.
• Recognizes the significance of structures visualized on the monitor and differentiates artifacts from pathology.
