  • 1+ years' experience in a commercial kitchen.
  • Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follows recipes and prepares meals according to the menu cycle.
  • Cooks or prepares meals in institutional quantities at proper temperatures and times.
  • Adjusts quantities to resident needs to prevent over/under production.
  • Serves meals on time.
  • Keeps a clean and organized work area.
  • Prepares and maintains substitutes to accommodate resident choices.
  • Assists Dietary Manager in inspections and surveys.
  • Follows infection control policies at all times.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned.

What you’ll do:
  • Follows recipes and prepare meals that correspond to the menu cycle
  • Cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities according to census and diet type, that are served at proper temperatures and at proper times
  • Adjusts food quantities according to the needs of residents to prevent over/under production of food
  • Serves meals on time
  • Keeps a clean and organized work area
  • Prepares and maintain a supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident's choice and preferences
  • Assists Dietary Manager in preparations for inspections and state surveys
  • Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned.

What we’re looking for:
  • Current Food Handlers Permit
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred

  • One plus years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility a plus
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
  • Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
