Job summary

Sunny Ridge - Nampa, Idaho seeks a full-time Cook for day shifts in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. The role involves preparing meals per menu cycles, maintaining food quality, and supporting inspections under the Dietary Manager.

Candidates should have current Food Handlers Permit and preferably ServSafe certification, with at least one year in a commercial kitchen and a high school diploma or equivalent. Excellent English is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, and understand English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One plus years' experience working in a commercial kitchen
• Experience cooking in a skilled nursing facility a plus

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares meals according to the menu cycle
• Cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities according to census and diet type, that are served at proper temperatures and at proper times
• Adjusts food quantities according to the needs of residents to prevent over/under production of food
• Serves meals on time
• Keeps a clean and organized work area
• Prepares and maintain a supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident's choice and preferences
• Assists Dietary Manager in preparations for inspections and state surveys
• Follows facility policies and procedures for infection control at all times
• Other duties as necessary and assigned.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:

• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting objects
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
