Job summary

Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to ensure safe and effective medication use across the patient care team. The role emphasizes inpatient pharmacy operations, dosage optimization, and patient counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• 2 years of relevant experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
• ASHP-accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice preferred.
• MI Pharmacist licensure (LIC-Clinical Pharmacist) required within 90 days.
• MI Pharmacist Controlled Substance licensure required within 90 days.
• ACLS or PALS or BLS certifications within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and efficacy of medication use and educate patients and staff.
• Interpret and screen medication orders for dose, route, allergies, and interactions; safely dispense meds.
• Supervise technicians, residents, interns, and support personnel.
• Participate in continuous education and department training on Corewell Health requirements.
• Provide counseling to patients and families to optimize medication use.
• Ensure services comply with state/federal regulations and accreditation standards.
