Job summary

Grand Canyon University invites applications for an Adjunct Clinical and Lab Nursing faculty member (PRN). The position requires travel within the Colorado Springs area to observe student performance during clinical rotations and labs.

BSN is required; MSN preferred. A multi-state RN license, drug and competency testing, and a minimum of two years of Med/Surg nursing are required. BSN holders will enroll in the GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU.

Qualifications

• MSN preferred; BSN required; BSNs enroll in MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire.
• Minimum of 2 years' Med/Surg nursing experience with an MSN.
• Active, current, unencumbered multi-state RN license.
• Drug test and competency testing required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content and teach nursing knowledge for pre-licensure students.
• Collaborate with content area faculty to document student progress toward clinical objectives.
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs.
• Remain current with trends in nursing practice and accreditation requirements.
• Travel to GCU student sites to observe performance during rotations and labs.
