Qualifications

• Masters (or higher) in Nursing AND 2 years of recent direct patient care in medical-surgical nursing.
• BSN with proof of at least 9 credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught.
• Active, current, unencumbered, multi-state (compact) RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent work experience in Med/Surg or Complex Care/Critical Care nursing with a BSN.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs.
• Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice.
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance.
