Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a PRN Athletic Trainer for contracted events. The role focuses on on-field injury assessment, immediate care, and coordination with physicians for follow-up care in a sports medicine setting.

The position requires a current state Athletic Trainer license, BLS certification, and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training; a master’s degree and BOC certification are preferred. Flexible scheduling and travel between facilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training.
• Master's degree in athletic training (preferred).
• Current Athletic Trainer license in state of practice (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required).
• BOC certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepares age and prognosis appropriate prevention, treatment and rehabilitation under physician supervision.
• Performs on-field immediate care for injury and recommends physician or therapy follow-up.
• Maintains injury log per contractual agreement and documents per policy.
• Maintains state license and certification.
• Assists in day-to-day operations and adapts communication to patient population.
