Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana seeks an Athletic Trainer to plan, organize and conduct the athletic trainer program under physician direction in the Sports Medicine Institute. You will manage prevention, treatment and rehabilitation plans and maintain detailed injury logs for ongoing care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, state licensure, BLS, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field required.
• Master's degree in athletic training preferred.
• Current Athletic Trainer license in state of practice and BLS certification required.
• BOC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct the athletic trainer program under physician direction.
• Provide on-field injury assessment and advise follow-up with physician or therapy.
• Maintain injury logs and document treatment and rehabilitation per policy.
• Maintain state license and certifications; stay current with standards.
• Assist in day-to-day operations and support clinic/community rehabilitation initiatives.
• Adapt care and communication to diverse patient populations; ensure privacy and consent.
• Comply with employer's policies and safety regulations; participate in continuing education.
