Kapor Center — Oakland-based family of organizations — seeks a Ranch Operations Lead for Millstone Valley Ranch. This full-time, in-house role focuses on hands-on repair and maintenance, groundskeeping, trail upkeep, and flexible backup coverage, plus serving as a primary on-call emergency responder after hours. Reports to the Ranch Manager.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on trades background in carpentry, plumbing/electrical, irrigation, or similar.
• Bilingual English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential matters in private residence.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain trails, creek areas, and guest-facing spaces to a guest-ready standard.
• Flag maintenance issues to Ranch Manager through the operations tracking system.
• Support building and system upkeep across residences and outbuildings.
• Assist with septic maintenance, winter tasks, and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Operate property vehicles and equipment safely within training scope.
• Provide flexible backup coverage for groundskeeping between contractor visits.
• Serve as one of the primary on-call emergency responders after hours.
• Support pre-guest readiness and coordinate timing to avoid conflicts with guests.
