Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock in Corning, CA is seeking a ranch foreman to oversee day-to-day operations with the FLC crew, reporting to Ranch Manager and Area Manager.

You will lead and direct farm activities, ensure safety, coordinate irrigation, pesticide application, harvesting, and equipment maintenance.

The role requires physical fitness, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred; in-office environment at multiple ranch locations.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ farm labor experience, preferably in tree crops.
• High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of firsthand experience.
• Irrigation systems, spray and pruning knowledge.
• Valid CA driver's license with clean record.
• Private Applicator Certificate or ability to obtain.
• Effective communication with peers and leadership.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds; flexible schedule.
• Basic computer skills; equipment operation safety knowledge.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, communicate, and direct farm crew to succeed and produce results.
• Maintain safe work practices and coordinate ranch operations including irrigation and harvesting.
• Inspect fields, plan upcoming jobs, and report safety or compliance issues.
• Train personnel, keep equipment and pesticide inventories accurate.
• Report to management daily to determine cost per acre and daily tasks.
