Job summary

Zurich North America in New York is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter to join the Middle Markets Private Equity team in NYC. This hybrid, in-office role partners with top brokers and clients to underwrite, price, and tailor insurance solutions.

You will collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Finance, Actuarial, and Technical Underwriting to grow a profitable book while maintaining disciplined underwriting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in underwriting or market facing area or 5+ with related roles.
• Experience with underwriting, pricing, and quotes for new/renewal business.
• Strong knowledge of industry practices and broker relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Build and strengthen broker, distribution, and client relationships to drive growth.
• Evaluate, analyze, and price new and renewal business for profitability.
• Partner with customers to tailor insurance solutions based on risks.
• Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Finance, Actuarial, and Technical Underwriting.
• Identify opportunities, drive business development, and deepen broker partnerships.
• Own territory and book of business with disciplined underwriting.
