Ready for your next career move? We are looking for a Private Equity Partnerships Lead for our client in New York, NY. Our client is dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. If you're eager to contribute your skills, take on new challenges, and grow with a team that values your potential, this opportunity is for you.
Position Overview
- Our client is an AI fintech software startup seeking a Private Equity Partnerships Lead.
- Private equity is our client's strongest growth channel.
- PE-backed companies are over-represented in their customer base, and the pattern repeats: the product is deployed at one portfolio company, the operating partner hears about it, and they ask how to roll it out across the portfolio.
- Until now, that has happened organically.
- This role exists so one person owns it and does it on purpose.
- This is a business development role, not a closing role.
- Will turn PE relationships into warm, qualified pipeline for the Account Executive team and are measured on the closed ARR you source.
- Be the first hire on this channel, with a mandate to build the playbook and prove it works before a team is added.
- Report to the CRO and work directly with the CEO, who has driven much of the company's PE traction to date.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Building the PE channel from 0 to 1: target firm list, outreach motion, partner value proposition, and handoff into sales
- Relationships at the top 50 to 100 PE firms investing in B2B software, Client, manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and multi-entity roll-ups, across operating partners, portfolio operations, value creation and finance leaders
- Turning relationships into pipeline: mapping each sponsor's portfolio, identifying companies with the finance complexity the product solves, and sourcing warm introductions to their CFOs and Controllers
- Running the partner funnel: reporting weekly on firms engaged, portfolio companies introduced, meetings sourced, and closed ARR
- Designing an operating-partner motion: packaged multi-portco deployments a sponsor can roll out across its portfolio
- Converting customer wins into sponsor relationships: turning one happy portfolio company into a portfolio-wide conversation
- Showing up in the PE ecosystem: operating partner forums, events, dinners, and the advisory firms around PE
- Partnering on every sourced deal: working with Account Executives from intro through close, and with Marketing on PE content and events
- Bringing the market back inside: sharing which firms convert, what operating partners care about, and what the product needs for portfolio-wide deployment
Required Qualifications
- Experience in portfolio operations and value creation at a private equity fund, with a focus on GPs rather than LPs
- 3 to 10 years of experience as a private equity partnerships lead, with deep knowledge of the PE landscape
Preferred Qualifications
- Relationships with operating partners, portfolio operations teams, or deal teams at mid-market and upper mid-market PE funds
- Experience building a partnership or channel from scratch in B2B tech, ideally fintech, accounting, finance or ERP-adjacent software
- Background at an advisory firm (e.g., EY-Parthenon, Accordion) or at a B2B fintech company
Salary
$180000.00-$220000.00/Year
