Job description

Private Equity Sales Executive, Digital Transformation & Engineering Services Location:

New York, NY (Remote, with some travel to client sites)

Experience:

5-10 Years Algoworks

About the Company

We are a PE-backed, fast-growing digital transformation and engineering services firm helping organizations accelerate growth through technology modernization, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency. We are now building a specialized sales team focused on private equity firms and their portfolio companies, where our services deliver significant impact on post-acquisition value creation, technology modernization, and enterprise performance.

Our clients rely on us as trusted advisors who combine deep technical expertise with practical business insight. We are expanding our footprint in the private equity ecosystem while continuing to serve a broader range of enterprise clients.

We’re looking for a Private Equity Sales Hunter with proven experience selling into private equity firms and portfolio companies. This is a key role in building and scaling our dedicated PE-focused sales practice.

Role Overview

As a Private Equity Sales Executive, you will own the strategy and execution for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities across private equity firms and their portfolio companies. You will build deep, consultative relationships with PE investors, operating partners, and portfolio company executives, positioning our digital transformation, IT strategy, engineering services, and AI capabilities as powerful drivers of value creation, operational efficiency, and investment returns. You’ll work closely with our partners, solution architects, and delivery teams to craft tailored proposals that align technology and engineering initiatives with the specific goals of PE sponsors and their portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sophisticated, relationship-driven go-to-market strategies targeting private equity firms, operating partners, and portfolio company leadership as part of our growing PE-focused sales team.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-potential, multi-hundred-thousand to multi-million-dollar opportunities within the private equity ecosystem through proactive outreach, networking, and strategic account planning.
  • Lead complex sales cycles — from initial discovery and stakeholder mapping to needs assessment, solution design, proposal development, negotiation, and successful closure — focused on private equity firms and portfolio companies.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery conversations with C-level executives, investment professionals, and operating partners to uncover transformation priorities such as post-acquisition technology assessments, systems integration, cloud migrations, data platforms, and AI-driven insights that support value creation.
  • Partner closely with consulting, solution architecture, and delivery teams to craft customized proposals and statements of work that clearly link technology and engineering services to PE value-creation levers, EBITDA impact, and operational improvement.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, PE investor summits, operating partner forums, and exclusive networking events to expand brand presence and generate qualified opportunities in the private equity space.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence on PE trends, sector dynamics, portfolio company challenges, competitive landscapes, and emerging technology needs to inform our PE-focused strategy.
  • Accurately forecast and track deals in CRM, while delivering consistent performance against ambitious revenue targets (with top performers capable of selling $4–5 million+ per year).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless handoff to delivery and exceptional client experiences that drive repeat business and referrals across portfolio companies.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience selling into private equity firms and portfolio companies.
  • Must have experience selling IT and engineering services.
  • Highly preferred: Coming from a Consulting background or consulting company (Big 4, boutique consulting, or technology consulting firms).
  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in technology services, IT consulting, or digital transformation sales, with a strong track record of consistently exceeding quota in competitive markets.
  • Proven success selling high-value, complex solutions (typically $500K–$5M+ engagements) involving multiple stakeholders and extended sales cycles (6–18 months).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C-suite executives, board members, and senior investment/operating professionals in the private equity space.
  • Deep commercial acumen, including experience in structuring deals, negotiating complex agreements, and articulating clear ROI and value-creation impact.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise operating models, private equity value-creation strategies, and the role technology and engineering services play in driving operational efficiency, scalability, and investment returns.
  • A natural “hunter” combined with a polished, consultative approach — comfortable operating independently while leveraging team expertise.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive presence skills, with the confidence to engage at the highest levels of decision-making in private equity and portfolio company settings.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset suited to a fast-paced, flat organization where ownership, initiative, and results are highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar.
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with employer match.
  • High degree of autonomy, direct access to leadership, and visibility in shaping and scaling our private equity-focused sales practice.
  • Opportunity to join a dynamic, PE-backed organization at an exciting growth stage, with meaningful equity upside potential tied to company performance.
  • A collaborative yet results-driven culture where your contributions directly impact portfolio company outcomes and firm success.
