Job summary

Mercer, a Marsh business, seeks a Private Equity Specialist in New York City with a hybrid work setup. You will support end-to-end due diligence, portfolio construction, and manager selection for North America Private Equity Funds, collaborating with senior staff and Principals.

You will develop expertise in evaluating funds, attend meetings, and contribute to written analyses, mentoring junior teammates while supporting client opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years of private equity investment experience.
• Exceptional quantitative skills to evaluate fund and portfolio performance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal, organizational and time-management strengths.

Responsibilities

• Attend manager meetings and plan due diligence; travel to on-site meetings and evaluate funds.
• Develop understanding of acceptable market-based economic terms for evaluated strategies.
• Leverage AI and technology-enabled tools to support analysis.
• Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports and presentations for Investment Committee and clients.
• Support research and due diligence efforts for the Private Equity team globally.
• Provide information on non-marketable investment opportunities and analyst insights to client-facing teams.
• Mentor junior staff.
