Job summary

Family Dollar in Chesapeake, Virginia is seeking an Associate Business Manager to drive Private Brand sales, margin, and store penetration. You will oversee the execution of new item development, lead cross-functional collaboration with Merchandising, Quality & Regulatory, and sourcing teams to ensure timely item launches.

You will partner with the Business Manager to set category strategy, analyze share and penetration, and develop store-ready plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in business or marketing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods/Grocery/Value Channel.
• Experience leading teams and driving change through influence.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Manager to set category strategy & goals, establish milestones, outline tactics, and execute plans.
• Assist in development of category business plans including analysis of current share and penetration, optimal mix, shelf placement, promotional plans and merchandising recommendations.
• Assist Business Manager with competitive store visit analysis and supplier follow-up.
• Function as project lead for Private Brand’s product development, coordinating with Merchandising, Private Brands and Quality & Regulatory Compliance.
• Work with suppliers to ensure new items are set up correctly and materials available during reviews.
• Manage new item development to hit distribution centers for annual store resets and updates.
• Attend weekly Business Rhythm Meetings and resolve inventory/service level issues.
• Assist in Marketing plan development to drive trial and awareness, lead execution for Pro3, signage and store communications.
• Collaborate with PB suppliers on day-to-day opportunities (AP issues, supply chain, stock, packaging changes, etc.).
• Represent Private Brand at Family Dollar meetings, supplier reviews and trade shows.
• Work with analytics teams for ad hoc analysis and weekly performance updates for Private Brand reviews.
• Coordinate with Daymon, Strategic Sourcing and Global Sourcing on bid/auction calendars and provide SKUs, suppliers, and contacts.
