Position Overview

We are seeking an art teacher to work with a young client who has ASD and OCD. The role involves teaching art once a week, in partnership with a team of two staff members. Training will be provided for applicants with art knowledge and a caring, open-mind approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct art lessons for 1 day per week (10:00 am–3:00 pm or 12:00 pm–5:00 pm).
• Collaborate with two additional staff members assigned to the client at a time.
• Adapt instruction to meet the needs of a client with ASD and OCD, and to manage challenging behaviors.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching art.
• Patience, open-mindedness, and a caring attitude.
• Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders or experience working with individuals on the spectrum.
• Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
