Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning is seeking an Art Teacher to provide specialized instruction for students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other disabilities. You will develop and implement an art curriculum, deliver personalized and small-group lessons, assess progress, maintain a positive classroom, and work with the educational team.

Locations include Trumbull, Naugatuck and Stamford, CT. A Bachelor's degree and CT Certification #042 Art PK-12 are preferred; a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Knowledge of art standards and curriculum.
• Satisfactory background checks required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement art curriculum aligned with the school’s mission and students’ individual needs.
• Provide individualized and small-group art instruction using a variety of artistic mediums and teaching strategies.
• Assess student learning and progress and adapt instruction, accommodations, and interventions as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Select, order, and maintain art supplies and equipment to support instruction.
• Collaborate with the educational team and participate in required training and professional development.
