Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL, is seeking a senior privacy professional to support program management, data protection impact assessments, and accountability governance across the enterprise. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of privacy/compliance experience.
• Privacy certifications such as IAPP CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting privacy governance programs in a complex enterprise.
• Strong understanding of privacy principles, data subject rights, and accountability obligations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with operational and leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead privacy program activities related to accountability assessment obligations and case management for new initiatives.
• Support and drive the Privacy Accountability Assessment operating model across jurisdictions.
• Design and maintain work instructions and accountability controls.
• Integrate Privacy Accountability Assessment with third-party security due diligence and privacy-by-design in the tech life cycle.
• Serve as trusted partner to data intake, inventory and risk classification boards on privacy matters.
• Support global DSR and privacy complaints operating model across jurisdictions.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate privacy workflows, including DSR intake and triage.
• Assist internal audits, external inspections, and governance reviews with high-quality records.
