Job summary

The Privacy & Data Protection Intern at BDO USA will learn privacy basics and assist with client projects. You will work with experienced professionals on data privacy, data governance, or AI governance assessments, and help develop policies, implement privacy technology, and support managed service projects.

The role involves operationalizing client processes, policies, and controls, plus contributing to project deliverables and data inventories. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Business Management, required
• Enrolled in an MBA or JD program, preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists with conducting privacy maturity assessments based on privacy regulations or frameworks
• Assists with conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) of client systems, vendors, or processing activities
• Assists with managed service client tasks
• Documents client meetings to socialize with the team following the meeting
• Supports individual project tasks related to privacy projects
• Assists the team with developing client reports, including findings and recommendations
• Assists with developing project deliverables
• Collects information for privacy processing registers and data inventories
• Conducts research for client projects to ensure that they receive the most up to date solutions available on the market
• Budgets time and assists with multiple project requests simultaneously, as well as the ability to monitor project tasks and risks
• Travel required as necessary
• Other duties as required
