Job summary

Accordance in San Francisco, CA is seeking a lawyer to lead our privacy function as we expand internationally. You will advise engineering and product teams, own the privacy program, and negotiate data processing and commercial agreements with customers.

Based in San Francisco with in-person work and relocation assistance, you will help integrate privacy into our platform as Accordance scales with top-tier clients in the finance sector.

Qualifications

• A law degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in at least one jurisdiction and able to practice in California.
• 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience.
• Strong background in data privacy, including experience with European clients.
• Experience negotiating SaaS and/or general technology/IP/commercial agreements.
• Ability to think creatively, work independently, and perform proactively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Refine Data Processing Addendum and Privacy Policy to stay compliant with evolving laws.
• Negotiate with customers on DPA and broader commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to bring an EU-based version to market.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments, awareness training, and assist in incident investigations.
